Always start with WHY

Before we begin any project, we ask that clients complete a Product Development Canvas. This ensures that we understand why the product should exist, and that our designs capture exactly what you want to create.

People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it.
— Simon Sinkek

Concept DEVELOPMENT

Once we have a good understanding of what we’re building and why, then it’s time to conduct research! At the completion of the Concept Development Phase, we create a specification for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP).

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication
— Leonardo da Vinci

Alpha PROTOTYPE

With the MVP Spec in hand, we’ll create realistic renderings of the product, test the market using the “Painted Door” and technique, then iterate on the design until we have something we know people will buy!

The best way to predict the future is to create it
— Abraham Lincoln

Beta PROTOTYPE

The Beta Phase is where you begin preparing for mass-production. We look for defendable IP opportunities, refine CAD designs for production, choose suppliers for components, and build a “Pre-Production” prototype.

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses
— Henry Ford

Launch CANDIDATE

Once we’ve built and tested our Beta Units, we will work through final preparations for mass-manufacturing. During this phase we will work with manufacturers and suppliers to build tooling and establish supply chains, and also make sure the product undergoes the necessary regulatory testing.

If everybody is thinking alike, then somebody isn’t thinking
— Gen. George S. Patton

Product LAUNCH!

Everyone’s favorite development phase - Production Launch! During the final phase of Product Development we we’ll test the manufacturing process, conduct Pilot Runs, prep sales & marketing, and begin the countdown…

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and more complex.
It takes a touch of genius—and a lot of courage—to move in the opposite direction
— E. F. Schumacher
